Kinusaiga is a modern Japanese art form based on historical techniques in which textured pictures are created by tucking small pieces of fabric into pre-cut grooves on a board, traditionally wood. The name translates roughly to “silk picture.” Bring colour home with Kinusaiga textile art!
I work with this captivating technique to study the interplay of colour and texture in my work through both abstract design and studies of Northern Ontario landscapes.
